Obama's Rx for Healthcare Spells Disaster!

While I'm an IT geek at heart I have worked around healthcare for many years. The last 8 of which I've worked with Government provided healthcare, Medicaid and Medicare. I know this area pretty well. But you don't even have to know and understand the dynamics of healthcare payers, providers and beneficiaries to see that this plan is a big mistake.

Of the many problems facing our country right now our healthcare system is the most complex one. It can not be solved with a quick plan. In fact voting into law something so hastily put together is probably the biggest disaster ever waiting to happen. Like a typical Democrat (or just a typical politician) Obama is worried more about creating a new voting block of 16 million government insured. His focus is more on just providing coverage rather than addressing the real issue - cost. The millions that are currently uninsured are a side effect of a problem, not the problem itself.

Let's hope congress tells Obama and Pelosi you can force quick fixes down everyones throat - it will only lead to bigger problems later.

Sarkozy says burqas are 'not welcome' in France

I love this guy. How ironic is it that France of all countries has the type of leadership to stand up to this BS and not pussy foot around issues like this pushing the PC 'Religion of peace' shit. And while Obama puts the exclamation mark on the P-word here Bush was a wienie when it came to this stuff too.

Minneapolis Jury award recording $1.9M

When I read this there's a couple of things that came to my mind. This poor woman claims her kids downloaded and shared these songs, 24 to be exact, about the number of songs on 2 long play CDs or 3 at most.

The things I thought of are:

1. What the F*ck is wrong with the people of Minneapolis who sat on this jury. I've never been much of a fan of the liberal politics of the Twin Cities, nor as an Iowan, the arrogance of superiority that they have with Iowans but I'm shocked the idiots on this jury would ever think of giving an award this large. It's like the made it up. Yea, it's completely realistic that this single mom of 4 can pay this. They've basically thrown these kids on the streets or at least into a life of poverty. These people get my vote for idiots of the year.

2. I understand the idea behind digital property rights but do these spoiled, out of touch, irresponsible recording artists really need this $ that bad? Do they need to drain every penny this poor mom has so they can buy another Bentley or a $5000 purse? The spoiled ass rotten, lightly talented performers of today personify a huge problem with Hollywood, they are so out of touch, that have no idea what real people have to deal with in daily real life. I'm sick of it.

Obama fires two more Inspector Generals!

This is unprecedented both in the fact that this power hungry SOB has the balls to do this and even more so by the fact that the mainstream media is ignoring it. Inspector Generals are put in place by congress to investigate government agencies and policy. Obama is removing the ones critical of his people and programs at a rate never seen before. IG's are rarely fired, ever let alone 3 in a weeks time.

'Hamas thwarts Carter assassination'

Apparently some Palestinian terrorist were going to assassinate Jimmy Carter. That would have done a lot to strengthen their cause wouldn't it. This is what so many people don't understand you can reason with and certain can not trust these people. They honestly don't want peace and a dual state existence - they want it all to themselves.

ABC = Another Barack Corporation?

ABC TURNS PROGRAMMING OVER TO OBAMA; NEWS TO BE ANCHORED FROM INSIDE WHITE HOUSE

On the night of June 24, the media and government become one, when ABC turns its programming over to President Obama and White House officials to push government run health care -- a move that has ignited an ethical firestorm!

Highlights on the agenda:

ABCNEWS anchor Charlie Gibson will deliver WORLD NEWS from the Blue Room of the White House.

The network plans a primetime special -- 'Prescription for America' -- originating from the East Room, exclude opposing voices on the debate.

MORE

Late Monday night, Republican National Committee Chief of Staff Ken McKay fired off a complaint to the head of ABCNEWS:

Dear Mr. Westin:

As the national debate on health care reform intensifies, I am deeply concerned and disappointed with ABC's astonishing decision to exclude opposing voices on this critical issue on June 24, 2009. Next Wednesday, ABC News will air a primetime health care reform “town hall” at the White House with President Barack Obama. In addition, according to an ABC News report, GOOD MORNING AMERICA, WORLD NEWS, NIGHTLINE and ABC’s web news “will all feature special programming on the president’s health care agenda.” This does not include the promotion, over the next 9 days, the president’s health care agenda will receive on ABC News programming.

Today, the Republican National Committee requested an opportunity to add our Party's views to those of the President's to ensure that all sides of the health care reform debate are presented. Our request was rejected. I believe that the President should have the ability to speak directly to the America people. However, I find it outrageous that ABC would prohibit our Party's opposing thoughts and ideas from this national debate, which affects millions of ABC viewers.

In the absence of opposition, I am concerned this event will become a glorified infomercial to promote the Democrat agenda. If that is the case, this primetime infomercial should be paid for out of the DNC coffers. President Obama does not hold a monopoly on health care reform ideas or on free airtime. The President has stated time and time again that he wants a bipartisan debate. Therefore, the Republican Party should be included in this primetime event, or the DNC should pay for your airtime.

Respectfully,
Ken McKay
Republican National Committee
Chief of Staff

MORE

ABCNEWS Senior Vice President Kerry Smith on Tuesday responded to the RNC complaint, saying it contained 'false premises':

"ABCNEWS prides itself on covering all sides of important issues and asking direct questions of all newsmakers -- of all political persuasions -- even when others have taken a more partisan approach and even in the face of criticism from extremes on both ends of the political spectrum. ABCNEWS is looking for the most thoughtful and diverse voices on this issue.

"ABCNEWS alone will select those who will be in the audience asking questions of the president. Like any programs we broadcast, ABC News will have complete editorial control. To suggest otherwise is quite unfair to both our journalists and our audience."

Norman Mattoon Thomas - Socialist

Norman Mattoon Thomas, (November 1884 – December 1968) was a leading American Socialist, pacifist and six-time president candidate for the Socialist Party of America.
The Socialist Party candidate for President of the US, Norman Thomas said this in a 1944 speech:

The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of “Liberalism” they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.
He went on to say: I no longer need to run as a Presidential candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democratic Party has adopted our platform.

Was this guy some kind of political prophet or what? Like Nostredames or something the only thing he could have possibly done better would have been to throw out a name or something. Maybe if he was one letter off like Nostredames was with Hitler (he said Hisler) he would have maybe predicted the name Osama .... Wait - that one's already taken.

Thomas was right. We Americans will never “knowingly” adopt socialism.

Thanks to my Facebook friend Brian Cox for putting this one up.

Change!

The country was promised change! He told everyone Lobbyist would not influence his administration yet they do, he swore pork barreling would cease, yet he signed several hundred billion dollars worth of it into law, and now he proves political positions are for sale. Didn't a governor recently get impeached and may face time for selling political positions? The only thing that has changed is that Clinton sold the use of the Lincoln room for campaign contributions this guy is selling the representation of our country. Oh, one other thing that has changed is the mainstream media says nothing.

House set to send FDA tobacco bill to Obama

If there's one thing (there's actually millions of things) elected officials don't understanding it's smokers. This is one area where Obama may be able to provide a unique perspective but the rest are clueless.

The house is proposing new legislation that will force cig makers to disclose ingredients, stop using descriptive words like fresh, light etc, in ads and so on.

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20090612/D98P667O1.html

What these guys don't understand is that you could force the industry to label these things as flammable turds and people would still smoke. You're already sucking so much money out of these people in taxes it's absurd.

As far as I'm concerned they can just outlaw the damn things - just don't even think of f*cking with my chew!

Love this one!

Things that make you go WTF!

Isn't interesting that for so many years Europe served as a model state for liberals in American and yet while they're rapidly moving to right after lessons learned we're darting to the left at an unbelievable pace.

You don't have to look at Europe to see the incredible irony here. Look at our own country. As we weather a recession brought on by irresponsible policy and management from both political parties and business, the The southern states, mostly red states by the way, are the ones that are doing the best. Two red states that recently crossed over (temporarily I'm sure), Florida and North Carolina aren't faring as well as their southern neighbors. On the other side of the equation, liberal states like New York and California are in deep financial crisis. California is on the verge of governmental collapse. States like Michigan that have been coerced by organized labor for generations are also failing. Yet amazingly, this is the exact direction our current president and his administration are taking us!

WTF!

Voice of Opposition

WASHINGTON, DC – President Barack Obama threatened to close down an opposition-sided news network, saying the defiant FOX News channel's days on the airwaves will be numbered if its directors don't stand down.
Obama on Thursday urged executives at FOX News "to reflect" upon the TV channel's tough anti-administration stance — or else the station "won't be on the airwaves much longer."
The leader has directed comments at FOX News before, demanding action against the channel for its alleged violation of broadcast regulations. Obama told a crowd of his supporters on Thursday that he "doesn't care" if such a decision were to draw criticism.
Obama recently called for sanctions against FOX News, and within a week the FCC slapped the network with a sizable fine, prosecutors charged its president in a probe into alleged fraud and lawmakers began investigating the channel for purportedly joining an anti-government conspiracy.
Broadcast regulators also are investigating FOX News for inciting "panic and anxiety" during its coverage of the North Korean nuclear test last month, when station director criticized other networks for failing to emphasize to its viewers the severity of the test.
Free press and rights groups have condemned the investigation. The New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists warned against what it called "unwarranted accusations against the press".
Obama accused FOX on Thursday of "poisoning people" and "sowing hate" among Americans. He denied that he's trying to silence critics, telling supporters they "should not allow themselves to be manipulated" by detractors who "accuse the government of persecuting journalists."
FOX News — a NEWS Corp network — has been the only channel on the open airwaves willing to challenge the Obama candidacy during the elections and administration since January.

Does this sound believable? This is not a real news article. It’s a modified version of an actual article about a dictator in South America, Hugo Chavez. However, with our administration drunk with power as they are it’s not hard to read articles about dictators around the world and simply change the name to Obama and believe that it could happen here. Not only could it happen it would be cheered by the mainstream press. Be aware America your country is being taken away from you!

CARACAS, Venezuela – President Hugo Chavez threatened to close down an opposition-sided news network, saying the defiant Globovision channel's days on the airwaves will be numbered if its directors don't stand down.
Chavez on Thursday urged executives at Globovision "to reflect" upon the TV channel's tough anti-government stance — or else the station "won't be on the airwaves much longer."
The socialist leader has threatened Globovision before, demanding sanctions against the channel for its alleged violation of broadcast regulations. Chavez told a crowd of his supporters on Thursday that he "doesn't care" if such a decision were to draw international criticism.
Chavez recently called for sanctions against Globovision, and within a week Venezuela's tax agency slapped the network with a $2.3 million fine, prosecutors charged its president in a probe into alleged fraud and lawmakers began investigating the channel for purportedly joining an anti-government conspiracy.
Broadcast regulators also are investigating Globovision for inciting "panic and anxiety" during its coverage of a minor earthquake last month, when station director Alberto Federico Ravell criticized state television for failing to quickly inform its viewers about the severity of the quake.
Free press and rights groups have condemned the investigation. The New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists warned against what it called "unwarranted accusations against the press" in Venezuela.
Chavez accused Globovision on Thursday of "poisoning people" and "sowing hate" among Venezuelans. He denied that he's trying to silence critics, telling supporters they "should not allow themselves to be manipulated" by detractors who "accuse the government of persecuting journalists."
Globovision — a Caracas-based all-news network — has been the only anti-Chavez channel on the open airwaves since 2007, when Chavez refused to renew the broadcast license of another opposition-sided channel, Radio Caracas Television. That network moved to cable.
