While I'm an IT geek at heart I have worked around healthcare for many years. The last 8 of which I've worked with Government provided healthcare, Medicaid and Medicare. I know this area pretty well. But you don't even have to know and understand the dynamics of healthcare payers, providers and beneficiaries to see that this plan is a big mistake.
Of the many problems facing our country right now our healthcare system is the most complex one. It can not be solved with a quick plan. In fact voting into law something so hastily put together is probably the biggest disaster ever waiting to happen. Like a typical Democrat (or just a typical politician) Obama is worried more about creating a new voting block of 16 million government insured. His focus is more on just providing coverage rather than addressing the real issue - cost. The millions that are currently uninsured are a side effect of a problem, not the problem itself.
Let's hope congress tells Obama and Pelosi you can force quick fixes down everyones throat - it will only lead to bigger problems later.

Data driven medicine - that's the name of the game as "Time" says and I agree! Lets get that working then we can make some better decisions about rationing health care.
